Among tradition, passion, innovation and respect of the environment in accordance with organic farming

The story of Società Agricola Francesca in Empoli (Florence) began in 2004, when Patrizio and Franca decided to buy 7 hectares of land surrounding their home. The company name comes from a beautiful chapter of their lives, the birth of their daughter Francesca who is a source of strength and inspiration for their activity.

From this moment begins a real and proper adventure, one of those “bets” that you can dare and win, not only motivated by economic reasons, but by a true passion that involves historical and cultural values.

With brave and continuous investment, the company began to specialize more and more in viticulture, acquiring new vineyards located on the sunny hills of Empoli and San Miniato, where the rows of vines harmoniously follow the orographical conformation of the land. Currently the company owns 25 hectares of vineyards (3 at Empoli and 22 at San Miniato) and 6 hectares of olive groves. The family philosophy: produce wine and oil starting from tradition, with the application of innovative techniques while always maintaining typicality and respect of the environment. Thus the organic agricolture method is chosen. Their journey wasn’t easy and fast, on the contrary it developed slowly through study, research and knowledge.


Terrain and vineyards in the heart of Tuscany

The terrain


The vineyards are located on the hills that face the Arno valley approx 120 meters above sea level, area within which the production of Chianti Docg is cultivated.

The soil has a marine origine due to sea water withdrawal and contains clay, silt and alkaline; it is deep and has a good presence of stone, in which is often possible to notice the presence of fossil fragments such as small seashells, that testify to the geological history of these territories. These peculiarities give the wine mineral character and a good structure.

The vineyards


The vineyards are mainly facing south-east and have a plant density of 5.000 plants per hectare, cordon spur bred or Guyot-trained.
